The Making of Roundup for Autism
September of 2009 marks the 21st Annual Roundup for Autism “Roundup”, benefitting the Autism Treatment Centers of Texas (ATC). Bobby Norris founded Roundup in honor of his daughter who has autism and designed it to raise funds for the Autism Treatment Center. Bobby and his wife, JJ, continued to involve their family, friends and connections in the rodeo/horse worlds and other resources to ensure thesuccess and growth of Roundup.

His generous heart and philanthropic spirit prompted him to start the Roundup, which was a one day cutting and roping event from 1988-1992 at his ranch in Burleson, Texas. Today, Roundup is one of Texas’ largest fundraisers for autism which spans across the Metroplex as a three day event. Roundup consists of a Parade at the Fort Worth Historical Stockyards, Golf Tournament at the Cowboys Golf Club, Rodeo/Celebrity Cutting at the Cowtown Coliseum and a black tie affair “Pegasus Ball” at the Fairmont Hotel-Dallas.
Born and raised on a large ranch in Colorado Springs, Bobby brought his equine operation to Texas in 1982, where he trains cutting horses at his ranch in Burleson, Texas. Currently, he serves as a Board Member for the Roundup for Autism and the Autism Treatment Centers of Texas. Past affiliations include: past president, Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Youth Assn; past president, American Junior Quarter Horse Assn.; past president American Cutting Horse Assn.
(three times); Board Member, National Cutting Horse Assn.; member of the National Cattle Raisers Assn. and has won several World Championships in the equine world.
