About the Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism

Picture
38 years ago, Audra Norris, was diagnosed with autism. Steering her father, Bobby Norris, and their family on an entirely new path. One that would show exactly what it means to have support from the community surrounding them. At the time, it was estimated that only 1 in 10,000 children were diagnosed with autism, according to the Center for Disease Control. This meant that services were not readily available.
Bobby’s search led him to the Autism Treatment Center of Texas, and immediately they gave him hope for his daughter's future. That hope turned into a mission.  The Norris family knew the only way to increase the support for children just like Audra, was to increase the resources available for the programs and services at the Autism Treatment Center of Texas. Nearly one year after connecting with the Autism Treatment Center of Texas, The Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism was founded. Since then, the event has grown into several major fundraising events spanning across the state of Texas. Leading the Norris family, and each member of their community, to an impact that has lasted for generations.

The Roundup for Autism Impact

Picture
When 6-year-old Aiden started ABA therapy at the Autism Treatment Center's Fort Worth clinic, his family felt overwhelmed and frustrated by his challenging behaviors. At 4-years-old Aiden started exhibiting aggressive behaviors, began frequently flapping his hands, avoided eye contact, and could not speak. After working hard in the Ft. Worth Clinic, Aiden has been using single words to indicate his needs.

Tasha Morrow, Aiden’s mother, says “It’s incredible to see how far he has come; from no words to echoing, using his picture book, and responding to his name. ABA was a life changing choice for our family.”
37 years ago, the Roundup for Autism was created to raise essential funds and awareness so that children, like Aiden, can receive life changing care at the Autism Treatment Center. As of 2024, this event has raised nearly $6 million to support the children, families, and adults affected by autism throughout our community. Without each of you, this incredible impact would simply not be possible.

We hope to see y'all once again on September 21, 2024 at River Ranch Stockyards in Fort Worth, TX!
